"The average amount of time
it took victims to resolve their cases was nearly 23 months. The average
total fraudulent charges on new and existing accounts of those surveyed
was $18,000. Victims spent an average of 175 hours and $808 in out-of-pocket
costs (not including lawyer's fees) trying to fix their problem."
I-fraud is one of the top destinations in the world for internet
fraud resolution principally dealing within the arena of credit card fraud
against merchants. This educational process for us started prior to the
days of on-line authorizations - the days when bad card numbers were printed
in booklets and mailed. Obviously, this was many years before the internet
and nickel phone calls.
Today, i-fraud has expanded into identity fraud to utilize the unique
knowledge captured from merchants, consumers, the credit card issuer,
and lastly, the regulatory and enforcement agencies located throughout
the world.
We have expanded due to the tragic growth
of this fraud. We do not sell reports. We do not sell kits. We sell skill,
time, expertise, knowledge and talent.
Identity
Theft and Identify Fraud?
The short answer is that identity theft is a crime. Identity theft and
identity fraud are terms used to refer to all types of crime in which
someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person's personal data in
some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain.

While the victim and his wife spent more than four years and more than $15,000 of their own
money to restore their credit and reputation, the criminal served a brief sentence for making a false statement to
procure a firearm, but made no restitution to his victim for any of the harm he had caused. This case, and others like it,
prompted Congress in 1998 to create a new federal offense of identity theft. |
i-fraud is very familiar with the thousands
of internet sites that purport to be helpful to you, but none addresses
a very specific need that we do. We will do the labor intensive work for
you if we determine that we are able to assist you. We will then recommend
a course of action.
Don't worry, we are not accountants or lawyers,
we are simply using our developed skills to assist you in what you could
do yourself if you had the time or wished to change your lifestyle for
the next year or so.
We do all the normal things you would do:
document, document, document, and then report to you. The proof of our
work can easily be verified by you through the 3:1 credit reports you
obtain independently.
It's relatively easy for a determined thief
to steal your name, your social security number, your credit card number,
or some other bit of personal information without your knowledge and commit
fraud in your name. Industry statistics estimate that between 700,000
and 1,000,000 people will have their identities stolen this year.
Unfortunately, you may not find out that your identity has been stolen
until you receive bills for credit card accounts that you never opened,
debts that you never incurred, or charges on your bills that you didn't
sign for, authorize, or know anything about. A free credit report can
be obtained through the mail or online by clicking the link below to subscribe
online.
How
did this happen to me?
Fraud associated with identity theft has the potential to cost institutions
and their customers billions of dollars. Institutions continue to grant
identity thieves access to financial facilities even after victims have
notified authorities and placed fraud alerts on their financial records.
What
Is My Total Cost?
Much like any doctor, much like any accountant, much like any attorney, we don't really know until we know
the problem. We don't have a restaurant menu consisting of a myriad of choices. In some instances, we may
choose not to assist you but in all instances, every private client we represent can be assured that they
will remain private and their information completely secure.
If we proceed to a stage of criminal prosecution,
we will coordinate all aspects of that criminal pursuit with you and will
provide you with appropriate agreements.
